10 Concerns with Sakeena Everett– UConn Center for Profession Advancement

In our repeating 10 Concerns series, the Neag School overtakes trainees, alumni, professors, and others throughout the year to peek their Neag School experience and existing profession, research study, or neighborhood activities.

A brand-new Neag School of Education professor, Sakeena Everett is a passionate literacy supporter and specialist in city education, instructor education, and literacy education. Her work centers on the intersectionalities of race, gender, socioeconomic class, and justice as a praxis in education. Her research study and mentor concentrate on the substantial literacy advancement of Black male trainees in primary and secondary schools, literacy instructor preparation, culturally sustaining pedagogies, and transformative, humanizing, and decolonizing research study techniques in education. Her research study program just recently broadened to examine and support sorrow amongst teachers, primarily supporting mourning Black ladies K-12 teachers and university professors.
